Overview
BloodSnap is built with privacy at its core. Your health readings are personal — we designed the app so your data stays on your device by default and is never sold or shared with advertisers.
What we collect
Data stored on your device
- Blood pressure, blood sugar, and weight readings you log
- Notes and tags you add to readings
- Reminder preferences and app settings
This data is stored locally on your device. We do not have access to it unless you explicitly enable Cloud Backup (Pro feature).
Camera / Snap entry
When you use Snap entry, the photo is processed on-device using OCR to extract the numbers from your monitor display. The image is never uploaded to our servers. The photo is discarded immediately after the numbers are extracted.
Cloud Backup (Pro)
If you enable encrypted cloud backup, your readings are encrypted with a key derived from your account credentials before being stored on our servers. We cannot read your data. You can delete your cloud data at any time from the app settings.
Analytics (anonymous)
We collect anonymous, aggregated analytics (screen views, feature usage counts) to understand how to improve the app. This data cannot be linked back to you or your health readings. We use Google Tag Manager for website analytics only.
Waitlist and email
If you join the waitlist via our website, we collect your email address to notify you when the app launches. We will not share your email with third parties or send you unrelated marketing. You can unsubscribe from any email we send.
How we use your data
- To provide the app's core features (logging, charts, exports)
- To generate AI-powered weekly summaries (processed securely, not stored)
- To send reminders you configured
- To send launch and product update emails (only with your consent)
Third-party services
- Groq — used for AI analysis features. Readings sent to Groq for AI summary generation are not stored beyond the request.
- Resend — used to send transactional emails (waitlist confirmation, launch notifications).
- Google Tag Manager / Analytics — anonymous website analytics only.
Data retention and deletion
Your on-device data is retained until you delete the app or clear the app storage. Cloud backup data is retained until you delete it from the app settings or delete your account. Waitlist emails are deleted upon your unsubscribe request.
Children
BloodSnap is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the app or email. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
